Pneumatic Hammer.

This method works well in cases where the injector is stuck but not totally seized. The hammer action breaks free any carbon or corrosion build up releasing the injector. As the hammer mounts directly on the injector body it saves dismantling a lot of engine parts. The injector usually has to be disassembled so its recommended have injectors reconditioned after removal. Although due to the nature of the task sometimes injectors are irreparable.

With salty roads, damp conditions and leaking scuttle pannels on vans water gets in the top of the engine, the water becomes an electrolyte when electricity from the engine earth is present galvanic corrosion between the cylinder head and the injector body seize the injectors in place.Hydraulic extraction will usually remove or snap most injectors, forces up to 15t is enough pressue to remove the most stobborn seized injectors. if the injectors are at this stage they usually require tapping to get more grip with the tooling. This renders the injectors unuseable.

Often the injectors will break with the amount of force applied to them with hydraulics. At this point they require drilling out. Using quality tooling and annular cutters the different parts of the injectors can be drilled and extracted. This process can be used for injectors that have been broken, snapped or welded and simply will not budge and saves having to remove or replace the cylinder head.

Often the bolts used to clamp the injectors will snap or shear leaving the main part in the cylinder head. These can be drilled by hand or mag drill. Tapping and inserting a helicoli or insert will allow a new bolt to be used with out having to replace the cylinder head.

Milling and Drilling

When a timing chain breaks people think the worst and sometimes even scrap the vehicle. The engine can often be repaired. If the valves are straight in the cylinder head the weak point is usually the rockers in the top of the engine. These can usually be replaced. In some cases the engine is a non interferance engine so the chain can just be replaced and the engine re timed. The issue is sometimes stuck injectors preventing the top coming off the engine of course we can sort this out..

It is important to change your timing chain or belt before it breaks saving costly repairs. This can be done at our premisis. Transport is available for this if your vehicle does not run.

Although we reccomend that injectors are all replaced with new injectors. it is possible to diagnose the faulty injector and replace just the one. We recommend using new injectors however remanufactured ones are available in various states of repair. Often they will be dificult to seal the combustion in the chamber or wont seal up atall. We can source new and used injectors for a reasonalbe price. Please phone or message to discuss.
